Identify: vertex
focus
endpoints of Latus Rectum
axis
directrix

Write the equations of the following:

• Vertex on (3,6) , axis is horizontal, focal distance is 5
• Vertex is on (4,-2), axis is perpendicular to the x-axis, length of latus rectum is 12
• The lines x+y=1 and x-2y=7 contain the focus. The directrix is the line y=1.
• End points of the latus rectum are (4, 10) and (4,0).

Start reading on ellipses. Sir said we should be finished with hyperbolae by next week.:)
